Iddari Lokam Okate movie review
Raj Tarun and Shalini Pandey starrer Iddari Lokam Okate movie has hit the screens yesterday. GR Krishna is the director of the movie which is presented by Dil Raju. Raj Tarun has some great phase in the industry; even though he came from a short film background, he is well received as a hero and made an impression with the audience. But he has been heading downhill lately and he has put all his hopes on this movie. Let’s see how it turned out.Plot:
Varsha (Shalini Pandey) and Mahi (Raj Tarun) are childhood friends. They meet after a long period. Varsha is an actress aspirer and Mahi is a fashion photographer. When Varsha is facing a lot of troubles heading into the industry, she will get an offer because of the shoot by Mahi. As they are already childhood friends, they start liking each other and just while they are about to propose each other, a twist rises in the tale because of a medical problem. What is that and how did it resolve is the main point of the film.
The director starts the film with high expectations. The kids meet the first time in a hospital and the setting itself promises an emotional ride on a feel-good note, but that is exactly what lacks in the movie. Mahi has a heart condition and because of that, there will be a conflict for him to express his love for Varsha. But he loves her with all his heart. Ironically, since his heart is the one that has the problem in the movie, his love story too seems to be problematic. Varsha, on the other hand, will be in a relationship with someone before she meets Mahi. Then after she gets close to Mahi, she wants to end her relationship with him and does so. There are points that might seem good on the script but the way they are dealt on the screen is quite tiresome. There will not be one scene in the movie that will be a take-home to the audience. There are no novel scenes in the movie, but that is not the complaint. Even though there are no new scenes, a film will do well if the performances and the feel are worked out. But since that emotional connection is not there, the audience will be bored easily and the story does nothing to change their mood.Performances:
Shalini Pandey, the actress who made her debut with a trendsetting blockbuster like Arjun Reddy, did not have another hit after that film. But the main reason is she did not accept any project that has enough scope to excel. Even though this movie, Iddari Lokam Okate might not do well at the box-office, Shalini gets good marks as her acting is remarkable in the film. She is surely the show stealer for sure and she gets good screen time too. Even her looks are improved in this movie. Raj Tarun is a bad choice for this film. Raj is known for his energetic roles and his roles as a next-door kid. But in this film, he plays quite a silent character that is contrary to his earlier roles. It is not bad to experiment with several kinds of characters, but it is sure a wrong choice to accept this role while his career is already in a bad phase. This film will help Raj Tarun in no angle whatsoever.Technical departments:
Mickey J Meyer’s music does not add any impact to the movie. Not one song will be remembered after the audience comes out of the theater. Sameer Reddy’s cinematography did a decent job. The film has a lot of lag but that might not be resolved in the editing department as the film itself is meant to be so on the script level.
The film might be bearable on the digital platform but it might not trigger any emotions in the theaters.
